Marie Curie was right. Almost all of the money made in modern societies today relies on scientific discoveries. Almost all of the USA’s GDP can be traced to some scientific discovery or other. But we spend just a tiny part of our national income on science, even though it’s the best way of increasing prosperity. The politicians making the decisions are mad.
